The Partnership...

In 2016 Mark Maldonado, LCAM and general manager of APV, met with Osceola County Commissioners to request the possibility of securing grant monies to upgrade our parks in Poinciana. When meeting with Commissioner Arrington, Mark was informed that there was indeed grant money available and that if the Association of Poinciana Villages wanted to partner with Osceola County they could add an aquatic center and a gymnasium to the Vance Harmon Park location.

For months they ironed out the details until it was time for Mr. Maldonado to present this project to the Board of Directors. In an 8 to 1 vote, it was approved to move forward with the Vance Harmon project and the partnership with Osceola County.

The project was carried out in two phases. The first phase was the Mary Jane Arrington Gym and Aquatic Center, and the second phase was the total renovation of the existing Vance Harmon Park.

Phase one was completed in April 2017 and the grand opening of this amazing facility was held in May 2017.

Phase two is also complete and the grand unveiling of the remainder of Vance Harmon was held on March 29, 2018.

As part of the partnership agreement, the entire park, including the pool and the building, was deeded over to the Association of Poinciana Villages in 2017.
